| Q: |
I have extra recycling units. Can I use these as trash units also? |
| A: |
Yes. The frames are identical, just powder coated differently, (blue and black), to distinguish between recycling and trash. |
|
| |
| Q: |
Can I collect glass in the ClearStream? |
| A: |
Although designed primarily for plastic bottles and/or aluminum cans, many customers have successfully collected glass with the ClearStream® CycleMax.
Here are some tips for collecting glass:
1. Always use the ClearStream™ Heavy Duty 1.5 mil LLDPE bag. It's thick, extra-strength resin will minimize punctures and tears caused by broken glass.
2. Do not let the bag get too full. Glass is much heavier than plastic or aluminum.
3. When collecting glass at an indoor event, it is recommended that a spill guard or our BigFoot Base accessory be placed underneath the ClearStream™ bags in case of leaks. |

| Q: |
How many recyclables can we expect to collect? Will we collect enough recyclables to pay for the containers? |
| A: |
There are many variables. What beverage containers are being sold, number of ClearStream® units, placement of units, etc. With a limited lifetime warranty, you have years of events to amortize the cost. If you have to subsidize recycling, it is good to know that recycling pays you back in other ways:
a. Avoided disposal cost
b. A cleaner event, with less trash and litter
c. Creating community pride

| Q: |
What else can we do to make money from the ClearStream? |
| A: |
Selling sponsorships is a way to pay for the units and generate profit, year after year! Visit our sponsorship information page to learn more. |
|
| |
| Q: |
How can I recruit volunteers to service the units? |
| A: |
Giving a portion of the income of recovered material to the volunteers or cleaning crew as incentive gives them encouragement to service the units. |
|
| |
| Q: |
Isn’t recycling too time consuming at large events? |
| A: |
Not anymore especially with the ClearStream®! The ClearStream® units set-up and tear down in seconds. When trash and recyclables are collected by the same cleaning crew, it really requires no additional time. Remember, each bag of recyclables takes the place of one bag of trash that would have had to be collected anyway. |

| Q: |
What is a QuadPod? |
| A: |
Set in a square, four ClearStream® frames have an overall base that measures 45” x 36”, which makes it the most stable container available for extreme conditions. The ClearStream® QuadPod is the clear choice in windy situations to prevent spilled containers. For additional stability they can be cabled together at the center point.
You can make a QuadPod from a case of ClearStream® CycleMax, PaperMax which are shipped 5 per case. We recommend setting up two ClearStream units as trash containers (no lids) and 2 units with lids. This leaves one spare unit for use elsewhere.
To set up an even number of ClearStream® recycler QuadPods you would need 4 cases, for a total of 20 units and 5 QuadPods. You can also pair them up for a mini pod. The increased stability of a large base prevents them from blowing over in extreme conditions.
10 clear printed “Recycle Only” bags are shipped with a case of ClearStream. We will send one complimentary roll of trash bags imprinted with “trash only” (either clear or black) shipped at our expense, for testing the quad pod.
Existing 55 gallon bags (38 in. by 60 in.), black or clear, also work fine for the units without lids. The ClearStream units with lids must use clear bags and they must be exactly 40 inches in circumference to fit the lid properly.

| Q: |
How do your units hold up against the wind? |
| A: |
The units are stable, under most wind conditions. The bag, when empty of recyclables or trash, allows the wind to blow through the unit. The frame is not a solid surface, so the wind passes through it. Wind pushes down on the aerodynamic lid, holding it down. See securing your ClearStream for more information related to extreme conditions. |
|
| |
| Q: |
Can I use your unit indoors on carpet? |
| A: |
Our bags are made of strong plastic, 1.25 mil, star sealed bottom. They are designed not to leak. However, there may be instances where the bag can be damaged: by broken glass or a crushed can with a sharp edge. We have spill guards and BigFoot Bases are available to insure that liquids will not reach the floor. |
